Sushant Singh Rajput/ Bullying/ Nepotism

Sushant Singh Rajput : A compassionate and warm soul who left this world on June 14, 2020. He committed suicide in his house in Bandra, Mumbai.

Actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s sad passing on June 14 has left a void in the film industry. But the aftermath of his death has been quite eventful. It has reignited the insiders versus outsiders debate in Bollywood and many are now slamming certain members of the film industry for upholding the idea of nepotism.

In this episode : Jasmananat, Inayat and Saanvi talk about how Sushant Singh Rajput's suicide bothered them. They also discussed about nepotism in general and how talented people are left behind in the Bollywood industry and other walks of life whereas untalented nepotism products are glamourized.

Does Nepotism exist?
According to Inayat, it is obvious! It does exist. Not only in Bollywood, but in all spheres of life. Why wouldn't a parent want his or her kid to join the same career or passion that he or she did? Why wouldn't a successful actor want his son to be an actor too? Why wouldn't a doctor want her kid to be a doctor too? If it's easy, why hesitate?

Jasmannat altered her decision saying that talent is honoured more than nepotism products. A nepotism product can get his or her debut movie but will never get further movies if he or she fails miserably in their first few. Why would a producer spend money on someone who couldn't help him or her gain profits?

Untalented nepotism products in the Bollywood industry :

1. Ananya Panday. Did Ananya Panday, daughter of Chunky Panday deserve a filmfare award for Best Debut Actress? I don't think so! Could she have gotten any role in Karan Johar's movies if she were an outsider? No way! The reason she is getting what she doesn't deserve is because she is Chunky Panday's daughter.

Although she has gotten fame, recognition and money in the industry, she still has always been immensely trolled by the audience for her acting. In The Newcomers Roundtable with Rajeev Masand 2019, she made a statement saying that she has been through a lot of struggle and her father had never worked in neither a Karan Johar movie, nor a Yash Raj Movie.

This certainly proves that she is really dumb! If someone deserved a filmfare award for Best Debut Actress, it should have never been Ananya. If I were to decide, I would have given the award to Tara Sutaria. But, not everything is in out hands!

2. Jahnvi Kapoor. Sridevi and Boney Kapoor's daughter, Jahnvi Kapoor in her debut movie Dhadak, has worked decently. The movie was a commercial success, although it received negative reviews form critics. It was said that the movie was a poor remake of it's original Sairat

According to the audience, Jahnvi Kapoor overacted throughout the film. People said that her acting skills aren't as good as her mother's.

I personally think that Jahnvi shouldn't be judged with only having been acted in one movie. She shouldn't be compared to her mother. But her acting in her debut movie has influenced her career. Hopefully, her next film, Gunjan Saxena : The Kargil Girl won't be as boring as Dhadak.

3. Sonam Kapoor Ahuja. The fashionista of Bollywood, daughter of Anil Kapoor, isn't as good at acting as some people believe she is. From her debut movie Saawariya to The Zoya Factor, her only movies that were really loved by all and were declared super hits would have been Neerja and Bhaag Milkha Bhaag.

Neerja would've been her only success, I would say. Farhan Akhtar was the one who made Bhaag Milkha Bhaag a success with his amazing acting.

4. Ishwar Khattar. He acted in his debut movie Dhadak alongside Jahnvi Kapoor. Although his acting was appreciated by a few, I still believe that he was praised more than he deserved.

5. Tiger Shroff. The son of Jackie Shroff, Tiger looked as a promising actor. But, he too didn't turn out to be as good an actor like his father. No doubt he is spectacular at martial arts and is an extraordinary dancer. But his dialogue delivery is something he should work on. There is always room for improvement!

Talented outsiders who are neglected at times :

1. Rajkumarr Rao. A promising and highly talented Bollywood actor who should receive awards for his amazing acting skills and dialogue delivery. Alas, neglecting talent is a part of the film industry. He was nominated as Best Supporting Actor at the 59th Filmfare Awards for his movie Kai Po Che. But was never able to win that award.

2. Sushant Singh Rajput. He committed suicide recently which has been a shame for the film industry and the people of the nation. But Sushant deserved many awards throughout his career which he never received. His works in Kai Po Che, M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story, Shudhh Desi Romance, Kedarnath and Chhichhore were worth tons of awards. In fact, his supporting role in P.K. was worth a filmfareaward too.

3. Nawazzudin Siduqui. I don't know if Nawazuddin is the perfect actor, but his acting skills are always on point. His struggle in the film industry has been huge.

4. Kangana Ranaut. The queen who insulted Karan Johar in one of the episodes of Koffee With Karan, has had been through great struggle to achieve what she has today. One of the most talented actresses in Bollywood, she isn't appreciated for what she deserves. She has come into the limelight again after Sushant Singh Rajput's death.

I could've exteneded the list further but left it right here. Let us know about actors and actresses in Bollywood you think get more than what they deserve from the audience and industry.
